Naturopathic Medicine
What is Naturopathy?
Founded upon a holistic philosophy, naturopathic
medicine combines safe and effective traditional therapies with the most
current advances in modern medicine. Naturopathic medicine is
appropriate for the management of a broad range of health conditions
affecting all people of all ages. From another perspective, there are
six main principles inherent in naturopathic practice:
Primum Non Nocere: First Do No Harm
Docere: Doctor As Teacher
Vis Medicatrix Naturae: The Healing Power of Nature
Treat the Whole Person
Tolle Causam: Identify and Treat the Causes
Prevention
Naturopathic physicians (N.D.) are the highest
trained practitioners in the broadest scope of naturopathic medical
modalities. In addition to the basic medical sciences and conventional
diagnostics, naturopathic education includes therapeutic nutrition,
botanical medicine, homeopathy, natural childbirth, classical Chinese
medicine, hydrotherapy, naturopathic manipulative therapy, pharmacology
and minor surgery.
The Center for Natural Medicine offers naturopathic
physicians who specialize in cardiovascular and pulmonary care, endocrine
dysfunction and women’s health in addition to treating a broad spectrum of other
health conditions. Many insurance plans provide naturopathic coverage. Our
reception team will assist you in verifying your insurance coverage. All of our
providers offer 15-minute free consultations as an opportunity for you to
discover how they are able to assist you in reaching better health. Also ask
about our discounted Heart and Lung Wellness student rotation.
Chiropractic Medicine
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts which considers
the individual as an integrated being and gives special attention to the
physiological and biochemical aspects including structural, spinal,
musculoskeletal, neurological, vascular, nutritional, emotional and
environmental relationships. Doctors of Chiropractic base their practices and
procedures on the academic and clinical training received in chiropractic
college and include the use of current diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Such procedures specifically include the adjustment and manipulation of the
articulations and adjacent tissues of the human body, particularly of the spinal
column. Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-surgical science and, as such, does not
include pharmaceuticals.
The Center for Natural Medicine is pleased to have an
outstanding team of chiropractic physicians, with a combined experience of over
24 years. They are experienced in treating personal and work-related injuries,
headaches, back/neck pain, whiplash, TMJ, and more. Each provider accepts a
variety of insurance plans, and we would be happy to assist you in verifying
your coverage. For your convenience, many evening and weekend hours are offered.
Each doctor offers 15-minute free consultations for you to discover how
chiropractic care can be beneficial to your health.

Wellness through Nutrition, Exercise & Stress Management
We believe diet is a very important aspect of one’s overall
health. Diet does not just imply weight loss. Your food intake can affect
inflammatory conditions such as arthritis; can be used to aid in reducing
symptoms from PMS; and can help reduce fatigue just to name a few. Our
naturopathic providers often utilize nutritional counseling and/or liver
detoxification (including periodic detox classes) as part of their treatment
plans. Wellness programs involving diet, exercise and stress management are both
popular and affordable. Our chiropractor, Dr. Kelly Barrett, is a dietician and
is available for nutritional counseling and weight loss consulting.
The Center for Natural Medicine, Inc. utilizes a weight loss system called
Ultra-Lite. The Ultra-Lite program originates in Australia where over 200,000
participants have benefited. It is a measured and controlled ketogenic diet
including supplementation and is showing great success here in the USA. If you
have any questions, please call to set up a free 15-minute consultation.
Mail Order and Online Dispensary
The Center for Natural Medicine Dispensary is a great bonus
for patients. Our providers are able to choose the supplements they use the
most, the best researched and quality tested products, and can offer them to
you. In addition, you are able to order on-line at
cnm-inc.com or
naturalmedicineweb.com or call
our toll-free order line 1-888-305-4288 and order your products without having
to drive to the clinic. Our website provides articles on many of the products we
carry.
Foot Care / Orthotics
The Center for Natural Medicine is proud to be a carrier of
Footmaxx brand orthotics (customized and computerized shoe insoles) and scanning
equipment. This technologically advanced system allows the patient to walk
across a pressure mat while the computer calculates abnormalities in their gait
(walking motion). This computerized gait analysis is then displayed in 3D for
analysis. If orthotics are indicated, the patients’ data is downloaded to the
Footmaxx laboratory where the insole’s are formed precisely to the individuals
test results. This system allows orthotics to be fashioned from analysis of the
patients WALKING motion, rather than the traditional method of using a mold from
a standing or sitting position. The dimensions and correction of the orthotic
module itself are precisely generated from computerized data; therefore there is
no guesswork or hand molding. Call us to find out more information or visit our
website at insolewellness.com.
